This Jaguar leaper sign is a double-sided version of the leaping jaguar ornament used on the front of the company’s cars. The plastic sign is around 8 feet long, has a chrome-style finish, and is supported by a bracket with pre-drilled mounting holes. Acquired by the selling dealer in March 2025, this Jaguar leaper sign is now offered at no reserve in North Salem, New York.
The leaper was introduced as a hood ornament in 1938 and features a jaguar mid-leap. The sign is constructed of plastic with a chrome-style finish, and fasteners secure the sign halves together. The sign measures around 8 feet long, and the widest section measures 19” wide. The condition of the finish is photographed in the gallery below.
A 9” by 11.5” metal bracket with mounting holes supports the piece, and the assembly weighs 55 pounds.
