300Tdi-Powered 1989 Land Rover 90 5-Speed
This 1989 Land Rover 90 is a right-hand-drive example that was refurbished in green and re-powered with a 2.5-liter 300Tdi inline-four under previous ownership, and it was imported to the US in 2024. Work during the build is said to have included replacing the clutch, bulkhead, front fenders, front doors, struts, and weather seals. The truck is equipped with a five-speed manual transmission, a dual-range transfer case, and a locking center differential, and modifications consist of LED headlights and turn signals, a Puma-style front brush guard, a steering guard, tubular side steps, 16″ Sawtooth-style wheels, heavy-duty steering rods, revised anti-sway bars, a safari snorkel, an NAS-style rear bumper, air conditioning, a touchscreen Bluetooth head unit, wood rear cargo area flooring, Land-Rover-branded all-weather floor mats, and custom black leather and green tweed upholstery. Acquired by the current owner in 2025, this Land Rover 90 is now offered on dealer consignment in New York with an owner’s manual, a 2024 invoice, a clean Carfax report, and a New Jersey title.

The selling dealer tells us that the bulkhead, front fenders, and front doors were replaced before the truck was finished in the current shade of green with a blue roof, and additional work during the build reportedly included the installation of replacement side mirrors, mud flaps, weatherstripping, door hinges and latches, and bumper end caps. The wiper system is said to have been serviced, and a steering guard, a Puma-style bull bar, tubular side steps, LED headlights and turn signals, auxiliary driving lights, a rear work light, a safari snorkel, and an NAS-style rear bumper were also added. Paint chips, bubbles, scuffs, and blemishes are viewable in the gallery below, along with paint meter readings.

The 16″ Sawtooth-style alloy wheels were refinished in Keswick Green with diamond-cut accents in 2024, and they are mounted with 265/75 BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A K02 tires that show mixed date codes. A spare is mounted on the swing-out rear door. The truck is equipped with power steering, heavy-duty steering rods, and front and rear anti-sway bars. Stopping power is provided by red-painted calipers over cross-drilled and slotted discs at each corner. The selling dealer tells us the struts were replaced and the brake system was serviced during the build.

The cabin features seating surfaces trimmed in black leather with green tweed inserts, and matching upholstery covers the center console and door panels. An aftermarket air conditioning system and a floating touchscreen head unit with Bluetooth connectivity have been installed, and additional appointments include a rearview camera, an Alcantara headliner, Land Rover-branded all-weather floor mats, and a heater.

The rear cargo area features inward-facing jump seats, an umbrella, and wood flooring inserts.

A wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts replacement AutoMeter instrumentation including a 120-mph speedometer and gauges for oil pressure, fuel, level, and water temperature, while a clock and a voltage readout are mounted in the center of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 29k miles, approximately 25 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The 2.5-liter 300Tdi turbodiesel inline-four was retrofitted under previous ownership. The selling dealer notes that the serpentine belt, tensioner, and thermostat were replaced, and the cooling system was serviced during the build. A custom intercooler and replacement intercooler hoses were installed and the injection pump was adjusted in December 2024. Work in November 2025 included an oil change and replacing the valve cover gasket, fuel pump, and fuel hoses.

Power is routed to the rear or all four wheels through an R380 five-speed manual transmission, a dual-range transfer case, and a locking center differential. A replacement clutch was installed, the transmission was serviced, and portions of the exhaust system were replaced during the refurbishment, according to the selling dealer.

The data plate above lists a VIN of SALLDVAB7FA401982, while the frame VIN stamping in the gallery is SALLDVAB7F401982.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or other reported damage from an initial update in December 2024.
There is currently a lien on the truck, and the current owner’s lender will need to be paid off before the title can be transferred to the new owner.
