1985 Mercedes-Benz 250 LWB 4-Speed

This 1985 Mercedes-Benz 250 was initially delivered in Germany as one of 5,180 long-wheelbase examples produced between 1977 and 1985. Finished in Deep Blue, the limousine is powered by a 2.5-liter M123 inline-six mated to a four-speed manual transmission. It rides on 15″ steel wheels with covers and is further equipped with power steering, anti-lock disc brakes, and self-leveling rear suspension. Inside, seating for eight is trimmed in beige fabric and accompanied by Zebrano wood trim, central locking, and a Blaupunkt Frankfurt stereo. Acquired in 2016 by the current owner, this V123 is now offered by a BaT Local Partner on dealer consignment in Göttingen, Germany, with manufacturer’s literature, a data card, and German registration.

The lange models produced on the W123 platform rode on a wheelbase that was 24.8” longer than the sedan variant, and were offered with a choice of three engines. This example left the factory in Deep Blue (900U) and features Euro bumpers and headlights as well as rear vent windows. Imperfections in the finish are shown up close in the gallery along with a selection of paint-meter readings.

The 15″ steel wheels wear polished covers with body-color centers, and they are mounted with Michelin XVS tires. Self-leveling rear suspension was a standard feature on long-wheelbase models, and the car is further equipped with power steering. Stopping power is provided by anti-lock disc brakes all around.
