This 1978 Porsche 930 Turbo is finished in Cockney Brown over a Cork leather interior with cloth-accented sport seats, and it is powered by a turbocharged 3.3-liter flat-six linked with a four-speed manual transaxle. Equipment includes a center-mounted oil cooler, aftermarket exhaust components, black 17″ Fuchs-style wheels, an electric sunroof, a tea tray rear spoiler, a rear-window wiper, a Blaupunkt Boston cassette radio, power windows, and air conditioning. Service in 2024 included refreshing the transaxle with replacement synchros and overhauling the engine with a replacement timing chain, main and rod bearings, cylinder head gaskets, lower timing cover gaskets, and intake and exhaust valves. This 930 Turbo shows 96k miles following registration history with two owners since new, and it is now offered by the selling dealer in New York with a window sticker, a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, partial service records, award trophies and plaques, judging sheets, removed parts, and a Connecticut registration.
The car is finished in Cockney Brown (408) and features an electric sunroof, a rear-window wiper, a tea-tray rear spoiler, and a revised front grille that accommodates an aftermarket center-mounted oil cooler. The sunroof gaskets were replaced in September 2024. Imperfections and chips are noted in the paintwork, and photographs of paint-meter readings are shown in the gallery below.
Black 17″ Fuchs-style wheels with bright lips are mounted with Nitto NT555 G2 tires. Stopping power is provided by power-assisted four-wheel ventilated discs.
The cabin is trimmed in Cork and features sport seats with leather bolsters and contrasting cloth centers. Equipment includes power windows, air conditioning, an anti-theft system, and a Blaupunkt Boston SQR 49 cassette radio installed in 1992. The air conditioning system was recharged with R134a refrigerant in September 2024, and the climate control blower motor was also replaced at this time.
The three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel has a metallic Porsche crest. It frames a 150-mph speedometer, a tachometer with an inset boost-pressure gauge, an analog clock, and auxiliary gauges. An aftermarket air-fuel ratio readout is located ahead of the shifter. The six-digit odometer shows 96k miles.
The turbocharged and intercooled 3.3-liter flat-six was factory rated at 300 horsepower and 291 lb-ft of torque, and it was overhauled in March 2024 by Daniel Jacobs, LLC of Southbury, Connecticut. The work totaled over $37k and involved replacing the timing chain, main bearings, rod bearings, cylinder head gaskets, lower timing cover gaskets, intake and exhaust valves, piston rings, and more as detailed on the invoice in the gallery. An aftermarket exhaust system and a center-mounted oil cooler kit are also equipped.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle. Replacement first, second, third, and fourth-gear synchros were installed in March 2024, and additional service included replacing the release bearing, differential bearing, and CV joint gaskets.
The window sticker shows initial delivery to Camp’s Cars, Inc. of Midland, Michigan, along with factory equipment, options, and a suggested retail price of $35,153.
Award trophies and plaques with judging sheets accompany the car.
The car is being offered on its Connecticut registration, which serves as the ownership document. The registration lists the Plate Class as “Historical” and the Plate Type as “Early American Antique.”
