This 1976 Honda CR250M Elsinore is said to have been acquired as a partially refurbished project in 2021 by a previous owner, who commissioned the completion of the work the following year. Reported service included overhauling the 248cc two-stroke single with a honed cylinder, a rebuilt crankshaft, Vintco piston and connecting-rod kits, and replacement bearings and seals as well as rebuilding the wheels and replacing the exhaust silencer, drive chain, tires, fenders, swingarm bushings, steering-head bearings, levers, cables, and more as detailed below. Refinished in red with yellow and white graphics, the bike is further equipped with a Mikuni carburetor, HPI ignition, D.I.D alloy rims, drum brakes, a black cross-braced handlebar, a black vinyl-upholstered solo seat, a through-the-frame expansion-chamber exhaust system, and a side stand. Sold on BaT in March 2023 and recently acquired by the selling dealer, this CR250M is offered again at no reserve in New York for off-road use only with a bill of sale.
The replacement fenders and front number plate along with the side panels and the vented 1.9-gallon fuel tank have been refinished in red with reproduction decals, and the chassis has been powder-coated to match. Features include a black powder-coated airbox, side stand, and cleated foot pegs as well as replacement hardware and a solo saddle that was reupholstered with replacement foam and a black vinyl cover.
Replacement 21″ front and 18″ rear D.I.D alloy rims were laced with stainless-steel spokes to refurbished satin-black drum-brake hubs and mounted during the refurbishment with Pirelli Scorpion MX Extra X tires. Suspension consists of a telescopic fork said to have been rebuilt with replacement seals and wipers as well as refinished aftermarket shocks mounted to a swingarm reportedly fitted with replacement bronze bushings and dust caps.
The refinished cockpit is comprised of a black cross-braced handlebar that is equipped with a Honda-logo pad and replacement levers, perches, and covers, secured in risers atop the satin-black upper triple clamp. The control cables and steering-stem bearings are said to have been replaced during the refurbishment. CR250M motorcycles were not factory-equipped with instrumentation, therefore total mileage is unknown.
The 248cc piston-port two-stroke single was reportedly overhauled under prior ownership with a honed cylinder, a rebuilt crankshaft, replacement bearings, and Vintco piston and connecting-rod kits. The high-mounted through-the-frame exhaust system was refinished and fitted with a replacement silencer, and additional equipment includes a Mikuni 36mm carburetor, an HPI ignition system, a polished kick-start lever, and a replacement petcock, fuel lines, and fuel filter. The fuel tank and carburetor are said to have been drained of fuel in November 2022, following five engine starts and heat cycles.
Power is sent to the rear wheel through an oiled multi-disc clutch, a close-ratio five-speed transmission, and a replacement countershaft sprocket and drive chain. The chain guide and cover are noted as replacements.
This CR250M does not have a title or registration. It is being sold on a bill of sale only.
