1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 428 Super Cobra Jet 4-Speed

This 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 was produced on January 13, 1969, and initially delivered to Norris Ford in Baltimore, Maryland. It was equipped from the factory with a 428ci Super Cobra Jet V8 linked to a four-speed manual transmission and a 4.30:1 Traction-Lok rear axle, and a 3.90:1 gear set has since been installed. The car was finished in Black Jade over white vinyl upholstery, and a multi-year refurbishment that was completed in 2015 involved refreshing the engine, refinishing the car, and replacing the clutch and driveshaft. Equipment includes the Drag Pack, the Visibility Group, 14″ styled wheels, and front disc brakes in addition to woodgrain interior trim, an AM radio, Sport Deck rear seats, and a rim-blow steering wheel. Acquired by the selling dealer in 2025, this Mach 1 is now offered in New York at no reserve with a Deluxe Marti Report, service records, the removed gear set, and a clean Montana title.
The car was finished from the factory in Black Jade, and it was refinished in 2011 following the replacement of the quarter panels. Details include a Mach 1 grille and graphics along with a blackout hood treatment.
Styled 14″ steel wheels are mounted with F70-14 Goodyear Polyglas tires. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums.
The high-back bucket seats and Sport Deck rear seats are upholstered in white vinyl, and woodgrain trim accents the dashboard, center console, and door panels. The car was optioned from the factory with the Visibility Group and an AM radio with an 8-track player.
The rim-blow steering wheel was refurbished in 2012, and instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary readouts. The five-digit odometer shows 73k miles, approximately 50 of which were added under current ownership.
The 428ci Cobra Jet Ram-Air V8 was refreshed in 2010 by Morley Performance Racing Engines in Fenton, Missouri. The radiator was also re-cored, and a replacement alternator and starter have been installed.
Power is routed to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission and a Traction-Lok differential with 3.90:1 gearing. Refurbishment work involved replacing the clutch and driveshaft, and the factory 4.30:1 gear set is included in the sale.
The Deluxe Marti Report shows initial delivery to Norris Ford of Baltimore, Maryland, and lists factory production information and options.
